Bread Crust Cinnamon Rolls

By Jeanne Gowen Dennis

Ingredients:

Crusts of bread left from making cut-out sandwiches
Butter
Honey
Cinnamon
Raisins (optional)

Supplies:

Butter knife for spreading
Spoon or fork to mix honey and butter
Baking sheet
Heat-safe spatula
Plates
Napkins

Directions:

Are you grateful for all that God gives you? Maybe you like sandwiches, but don’t like to eat the crusts. It’s not good to waste food, so here’s a way you can make bread crusts taste good.

If you have crusts left over after making your sandwiches, use the crusts to make twisty honey cinnamon rolls for dessert. With a parent’s help, spread a little butter mixed with honey on the crusts. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Then twist two or three crusts together to make a roll. They can be long, round, or any shape you can manage. You may have to squeeze a little to make the roll hold together. Add raisins if you want. Bake at low temperature until the rolls are warm and a little crispy. Watch them carefully so they don’t burn.

Give Thanks to God and Eat Up!

Now enjoy your treat. Did you ever imagine that bread crust could taste so good? Don’t forget to thank God for your family and friends, for life, and for all the wonderful food He has provided for you!
