How Heritage of Truth Can Help You
Build Lifelong Confidence in Biblical Truth
If You’re Like Most Christian Parents . . .
You’re trying to raise your children to love and serve Jesus for life.
- You take your family to church.
- You read the Bible.
- You pray.
- You model your faith.
- You do everything you can to train your children to love and obey God.
But There’s a Problem
Statistics claim that 70 to 75% of children raised in church will leave the Christian faith as young adults. Many become atheists. But their departure begins years before that, even in elementary school.
Young adults who’ve left the faith give reasons like these:
- They didn’t get satisfactory answers to their questions from their church, pastor, or parents.
- They weren’t allowed to doubt, question, or examine why they believed.
- They never voiced their doubts or asked their questions. They just gradually stopped believing.
These young people had not been taught to use reason to support their faith. They had no opportunity to examine alternate worldviews in light of biblical Christianity. So when they confronted teachings that claimed “scientific” or other “proofs” that conflicted with the Bible, they had no defense.
I’ve Been There
I was a faith casualty. Some of my college professors convinced me to reject God and everything the Bible teaches. It almost ruined my life. For several years, I couldn’t distinguish right from wrong. I made stupid decisions. I was miserable. Praise God, He drew me to faith in Jesus in my early thirties.
My late husband, Steve, had almost no faith training growing up. As a PhD scientist, he had accepted the ideas he was taught at the university.
After I was saved, I experienced why the Bible teaches believers not to marry unbelievers. It’s difficult to have a great marriage if you don’t share a common foundation for life.
When our daughter was a young teen, I thought disaster had struck. Having professed faith at the age of four, she began to doubt. I panicked. I didn’t want her to go through what I did. Thankfully, God guided me to resources that helped her to first examine and then own her faith.
Steve became an on-fire believer and served as a deacon in our church. He also ran this ministry with me. He always said that people who grew up in the church are blessed to have grown up in Christian homes.
We Can Help
We want to help you as concerned Christian parents to teach the reasons you believe so your children will have lifelong confidence in biblical truth. At the same time, we hope to encourage you in your own relationship with Jesus Christ.
Together, with God’s help, we can stop this faith exodus if we give young people the answers they need.
How? Through training our children in basic biblical theology and apologetics. Theology involves getting to know God and His Word better. Apologetics is simply being able to explain why you believe what you believe. It relates to a command we find in the New Testament:
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you with meekness and fear. ( 1 Peter 3:15 NKJV)
This training can start with children as young as preschool age with the right tools. And high school is not too late. But the earlier you start training children, the better.

Who Am I?
First of all, I am a lover of Jesus Christ. I am a traditionally published Christian author, online TV host, musician, and speaker. For over 30 years, I have worked with children and adults of all ages.
Under Chuck Colson and his team at BreakPoint, I received intensive training in biblical apologetics and worldviews. I was commissioned as a BreakPoint Centurion in 2006 and as a Colson Fellow in 2015. Presently, I am working on a Master of Theological Studies degree.
Please contact us and let us know how we can serve you better.
You Can Do It!
I’ve been asked, “How complicated is this? How long will it take? Can I really learn this?”
Yes, you can learn this. It will take some time. But it’s not as complicated as it seems. In my study of worldviews, I discovered that Christianity is the most logical and historically verified belief system in the world.
In the coming months, I hope to help you learn to teach Bible and apologetics in a way young children can understand and older children can respect. I hope to give you the confidence to give your children, grandchildren, and any other children in your life a deeper understanding and love for the Creator God we serve.
Yes, building your children’s confidence in biblical truth will require an investment of time, patience, and love. Your efforts may result in alternating setbacks and victories. As a veteran homeschooling mom, I know what that’s like. But the rewards are beyond imagination. They’re eternal.
Let’s put our heads and hearts together to help children live totally and without apology for Jesus Christ!
