About Jeanne Dennis – Heritage of Truth
How This Ministry Began
And say to Archippus, “See that you fulfill the ministry that you have received in the Lord.” (Col 4:17 ESV)
Thank you for your interest in our ministry. My husband Steve and I have been working together to bring you Heritage of Truth for several years. It all started because my friend and fellow Breakpoint Centurion Patty Webb and I lived in the same town and wanted to use our worldview training to help families stay strong in their faith.
Patty moved on after a few years to serve the deaf community with Evangelism Explosion. At about the same time, my husband became available to help me. Now we enjoy serving you together. Even though Steve prefers to stay behind the camera, Heritage of Truth could not happen without him.
The Reason Behind It All
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
Before Heritage of Truth became a reality, I had been writing, speaking, and working with both adults and children for almost twenty years. Why? All because of Jesus:
He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
making my steps secure.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in the Lord (Ps. 40:2–3 ESV).
Jesus is the Lord of our lives, and all Steve and I do is for His glory and His alone.
Why the Passion for Truth?
“Sanctify them through thy truth. Thy word is truth.” (John 17:17)
My passion for truth resulted from being duped in college by professors who had rejected God. Like reportedly around 70% of today’s college students, I was a faith casualty. That’s why I’m passionate about helping you pass on biblical truth to upcoming generations.
Steve came to faith much later in life. He always tells people who grew up in Christian homes how blessed they are, because he didn’t have the same foundation of truth to live by that they did. But now he does, and oh what a difference Jesus has made in our lives!
What We Do
. . . whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. (1 Cor. 10:31b)
I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 3:14 NKJV)
Our mission is to provide resources to help Christians:
• Be all they can be in Christ
• Be ready to give an answer for the hope they have in Christ (1 Pet.3:15)
• Be good examples and faithful witnesses
• Be able to anticipate and answer faith questions
• Be prepared to equip the children in their lives with the proofs they need to believe biblical truth and hold on to faith throughout life.
Helping You Stand Strong in a Confused Culture
Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. (Eph. 6:13 NASB)
We provide resources to help you stand strong in a spiritually and morally confused culture through our Heritage of Truth TV and Blog, our biblical worldview pages, and our children’s section, Truth Junior.
And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ. But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. (Matt. 23:10–12 NKJV)
In our blog and TV show, we discuss what it means to be a Christian and how to live it out in today’s world. How does our faith play out when we face problems? What is different about us? What should be different? Why would non-believers want the faith that we have? How can we be winsome witnesses to our neighbors without allowing the world’s values to overcome us? How can we pass down our precious faith to our children and grandchildren? These are just a few of the questions we discuss.
• Interviews and discussions with hundreds of authors, pastors, musicians, movie producers, and other Christian influencers
• We discuss Christian living, culture, parenting, current events, creation, Christian music, movies, and other timely topics related to understanding and living out a biblical worldview.
• Reflections and commentary on life, culture, Scripture, and important issues related to biblical faith
• Book, music, and movie reviews
• Reflections on God’s creation
• A few fun recipes and crafts
• A bit of inspirational music
Please join in the discussion and pose your own questions. Let’s put our heads and hearts together to help one another live truly and totally for Christ.
Therefore Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, ‘You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.’” (John 18:37 NASB)
What is biblical faith all about? How do we answer the greatest questions in life? Here you can explore the biblical worldview and what it means to live life in close relationship with the Creator who loves you so much – like a child running barefoot on holy ground.
Our Biblical Worldview section features:
• Information about what the Bible actually teaches
• The great questions of life
• Digging deeper in the faith
• How to use a Bible
• Archived copies of Barefoot Path e-zine.
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. (Deut. 6:7 NKJV)
Our children’s area, Truth Junior, features fun and interesting:
• and more
All designed to help keep your children grow in their faith and learn to think biblically.
Jeanne’s Writing, Speaking, Music
Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Speak of all His wonders. (Ps. 105:2 NASB)
I also write books, articles, and songs to help families understand and live out biblical faith. When given the opportunity, I love to speak to groups about our wondrous God and Savior and how we can live in a closer relationship with Him and help others to do the same.
But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. (2 Tim. 1:5)
We want to help you and your family:
• Grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ
• Understand the Bible
• Live according to its truths
• Pass on the faith to others, especially the children in your lives
• If you don’t know Jesus, it would be our joy to introduce you to Him.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace (Ephesians. 6: 14–16 NKJV)
New Creations in Christ – Trained in Biblical Thinking
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Cor. 5:17 NKJV)
Although Steve came to faith later, he has been familiar with Scripture and sat under biblical preaching for many years. Now he studies his Bible daily. He is a deacon in our church and lovingly serves wherever he’s needed. As I said, he likes to stay in the background. Enough said.
When I became a believer over 35 years ago, I started studying Scripture in earnest. I have sat under solid Bible teachers all these years and continue to be a lifelong student of God’s Word, Christian apologetics, and other topics related to biblical faith.
With my insatiable desire to learn more about how to defend my faith, I received intensive training in the biblical worldview under Chuck Colson and his team at BreakPoint. I was commissioned as a BreakPoint Centurion in 2006 and became a Colson Fellow in 2015.
Author, Speaker, Singer/Songwriter, Websites Owner
That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. (Ps. 26:7)
God has graciously made me an award-winning writer and author of several books. He has allowed me to use writing, media, and music to help both children and adults grow in their faith.
I have led and designed women’s Bible studies and have worked with women and children of all ages. I’ve also been a speaker and have taught at writers conferences and homeschool conferences for many years.
This is actually my seventh website. I combined six websites to form the Jeanne Dennis–Heritage of Truth website. This website has merged together jeannedennis.com, heritageoftruth.com, heritageoftruthjr.com barefootonholyground.com, barefootpath.com, and barefootforkids.com. The contents of the Barefoot Path e-zine for adults and the Barefoot for Kids e-zine for children have all been migrated to this website. The children’s content is still being updated and will be posted with new graphics over time.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Heb. 10:23–25 KJV)
We do everything we can to ensure that what we present on this website is faithful to the Word of God in the Bible. We cannot control what you find on sites for which we provide links.
